For decades, the greed for more Moohla has endangered our wildlife species. The trilingual Hati Mere Sati studied this issue. This movie is not a remake of the elder Rajesh Khanna starring Haathi Mere Saathi  (1971), so we want to know what the same name needs to be given to it.                                                                             

According to a recent teaser, the movie star Lana Dabubadi played a man who grew up in the jungle. He believes that the jungle is his home, and all the animals in the jungle, including wild elephants, are his family.

Imagine that a conference room full of powerful people is making plans to build a huge, plush town surrounded by green trees. Ironically, their goal is to achieve this goal by encroaching on protected areas. Director Prabhu Solomon’s trilingual film (Alanya in Telugu, Kadan in Tamil, and Hati Mere Sati in Hindi) is a related story that may cause Similar threats to ecologically sensitive areas in different parts of the country resonate.

This movie is also an indirect hat reminder of Jadhav Payong, who is considered to be the forest man of India. Like Paying, the bushmen on the screen planted thousands of trees. Apart from this similarity, the protagonist's journey here is fictitious. His real name, Narendra Bhupati, was mentioned in a flash. He is more like Aranya (Kadan in Tamil). The jungle is the terrain familiar to the Solomon people. His early movie "Kumki" (Gajaraju in Telugu) tells an exciting story about the bond between a man and an elephant. The opening scene of Aranya is in a similar space, attracting us into the dense forest and their many sights and sounds. Ashok Kumar’s camera and Resul Pocuti’s sound design set the stage for visual and auditory pleasure.

Solomon drew a clear line between Aranya and the vested forces without wasting time. A minister (Anans Mahathir), a real estate company and many of its subordinates wanted to invade a protected area. Elephants risk losing the opportunity to obtain their most basic needs-water. The forest people will not have it.

For such a clear battle, things have happened long ago. Some things are feasible-such as the characteristics of the bushman. Lana plays a rugged forest man with a peculiar gait, which looks believable even in the sequence of gravity against Tarzan. This character has an interesting history. He is not an ordinary poor person in the forest. His family has always lived in sync with nature, putting ecology first.                                                                                 

His unique characteristics are used to deal with his part is played out very well. However, the film quickly lost its momentum and began an unbalanced narrative of all Hami's opponents desperate for the blood of elephants.

Of course, there are Naxal women (Zoah Hussein) and journalist Arendati (Shria Pirgankar) who want the jungle to be protected, but their roles are limited.

This movie has its moments. You can guess when the elephant will be hurt, but when it happens, it shakes you. When a group of elephants went looking for water, it was a desperate call for survival. One of the last moments of the scene, suitable for the Hindi title, Haathi Mere Saathi, is equally moving.

But there are a few loose ends. The partly stupid partly corrupted Mahut Singh (Vishnu Vishal) and Zoya’s romantic sub-figure disappeared after one point. A lone official who initially offered help later has nowhere to go in the photo. A few characters, stayed, didn't even do the most predictable thing. Why does it take so long for independent journalists to take advantage of the power of social media?

Lana strangely tried to hold things together, trying to save the elephant and the movie. When he tried to regain the trust of the elephant, he was totally distracted. Shria and Zoa are good, but they can't do anything with underdeveloped characters.

In a conversation, Lana said that animals know where to find food and water, and humans don’t know where to find food and water according to the season. Giants are superior creatures, and their career deserves a better movie.

Kaadan’s story is noble and must be told, but what it lacks is the ability to create impact, which is why the film is not as effective as people expected.                                                                                

Prabhu Solomon became a filmmaker with films such as "Mynaa" (2010) and "Kumki" (2012). He returned to Kaadan with a well-meaning wildlife protection story, also known as Alani Ya (Telugu), also known as Haathi Mere Saathi (Hindi).

This film marks the first appearance of Tamil Rana Daggubati in a full-length role. This story is a noble story that needs to be told. But what this film lacks is the ability to create impact, which is why it cannot be as effective as many people expected.

The story centers on Rana Daggubati’s Forester character. Following the example of environmental activist Jadaf Paying, commonly known as the "Indian Forester": In the story, he adopted a system to combat the infringement of the reserve forest to build a town.

The first moments of the film are all about the relationship between the protagonist and wild animals, especially the relationship with elephants. The story of forest encroachment is related, and if it can be told convincingly, it will form an important dialogue. Unfortunately, Kaadan is not that movie.

                                                                                     

Kaadan wanted to be ambitious, but it was everywhere. It had a decent story arc in the first half, when we were introduced to some interesting characters. Vishnu Vishal played Mahut who explained the government's resistance to wild elephants, but his character was suddenly removed at the end of the first half, and there was no scene thereafter. Zoya Hussein plays a Naxalite (left-wing extremist) with a frustrating past, but her character has no meaning in the story. Shria’s character as a journalist is the same. He believes in Rana’s career, but it has no relevance. After a little bit, it feels like a movie, with the sole purpose of enhancing Lana's character, even if it makes everything else seem worthless.

As a forester, Lana injected vitality into his character. He provides a mature behavior and plays a convincing role to make him one of the best dates. But take out Lana's serious performance and some emotional and touching scenes with elephants and the movie crash like a house of cards. The magnificence of the forest is mainly captured through substandard visual effects.

Although the intention to talk about wildlife protection is commendable, kaadan is very predictable, and its grandeur is just a trick to project the epic scale of the movie.
