When making family-friendly movies, people should consider children and adults with brain cell development as part of the audience. Amazon Prime Video’s latest product "Hello Charlie" does not seem to be the case. Directed by Pankaj Saraswat and starring Ada Jain, Jackie Shroff and Elnaaz Norouzi the film attempted to be an old-school comedy, and was eventually released in an outdated and uninteresting way.

We have a simple Chirag Rastogi aka Charlie, played by Aadar Jain and played by the billionaire liar Md Makwana played by Jackie Shroff. The former came to Mumbai to earn a living and pay off the debts of his late father, while the latter tried to avoid the police and flee the country. How did he do that? His Arm Candy Girlfriend, written by Elnaaz Norouzi devised a plan to disguise him as a gorilla and transport him to Dior, where he will escape forever.

Charlie, who aspires to engage in any odd job, becomes his truck driver, which is when the "adventure" part of the so-called "comedy" begins. Even with all the predictability, if there is some kind of friendship between the two, this road trip is unlikely to be so irritating. Unfortunately, all you see are businessman Mark Warner rejecting bananas and rolling his eyes in a gorilla suit. Charlie struggles to entertain with his silly antics. All in vain. Humor is basic (if any), dialogue is exhausting, and narration is a painful cliché.

Next, when the plane crashes, there will be an identity error, which actually prepares a gorilla for the Indian zoo. The forgotten character adds an idiot to this monkey business. There is a savvy circus owner (Girish Kulkarni trying to acquire a gorilla, a forest ranger (Rajpal Yadav), he does not know how to deal with animals, and a veterinarian (Bharat Ganeshpure), he plays a full-time drunk. What a waste of talent!

Speaking of talent, Aadar Jain showed hope in his second "Hello, Charlie", but he still has a long way to go. He shares an incredible similarity with his cousin Ranbir Kapoor, which we understand is beyond his control, but he could have brought his own talent in the transmission and manner of dialogue. But here is Charlie of Aadar reminding us of Ranbir’s Prem from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Jackie Shroff didn't get a role worthy of his acting ability, and again after his disappointing web series Ok Computer. He deserves more than just screaming “Khujli ho rahi hai”, but itching a lot and jumping around. His girlfriend, essayed by Elnaaz Norouzi in the movie, gave a decent performance.

Hello Charlie’s heroine, who made her debut in Shhloka Pandit introduced a project number. Yes, this is still happening in Bollywood. She plays Padmini, a dancer used by Girish’s circus boss. Her role is too brief to make an impact. She is with Charlie so they can achieve their personal goals, freedom for her and money for him.

As for the direction, there is nothing to do in this straightforward plot, but to execute it well. Well, this will not happen. Hello Charlie went on a clapping adventure, and bored audiences in the process, causing trouble than laughter. The film ends with a high-profile showdown, and bananas are also a key role.

Hello Charlie Movie Tralier

In short, Hello Charlie is a stupid comedy, it may get some giggles from the kids, but only the eyes roll from the adults. If you want to turn off your brain and sit in front of the screen, this movie can be the weekend of your choice, but we suggest that you pass your time with another Gorilla movie 2021 which was given to us by Godzilla against the hole.

Final thoughts: Hello Charlie ends with the narrator and says, “Shayad kisi ne theek hi kaha hai, jo kuch nahi karte wo kamaal karte hai  (those who do nothing and do amazing Things). Maybe the filmmakers took this to heart. As for us, we have never seen "Kamaal". Goodbye Charlie

Hi Charlie is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The Plot

If anyone is asked to simplify the plot of this movie, it's just that: a billionaire liar MD Makwana (played by Jackie Shroff) tries to escape the country. What is his girlfriend (played by Elnaaz Norouzi) going to do? Disguised as a gorilla, transported him to Diu and escaped from there. On the other hand, Chirag Rastogi (aka Charlie), played by Ada Jain, came to Mumbai to make money so that he could pay off his late father’s loan. However, he eventually became a truck driver, and his truck Makwana would disguise as a gorilla to transport. Hi Charlie also tried to bring the romance between, but this also left incomplete, and did not present it well.
