Mumbai Saga review: John  Abraham, Emraan Hashmi film is a  jaded re-retread of familiar ground

Mumbai Legend Movie Review: In Sanjay Gupta’s better movies, the bad guys used to be more interesting and the actions used to be elegant. However, this movie by John Abraham-Emran Hashim is boring.

What Is the Story About?

Just when I thought Bollywood was obsessed with heavy action dramas, in which heroes single-handedly beat 20 men in wear, legendary in Mumbai. If I can recommend a new title for this Sanjay Gupta movie, it will be "Dishum and Dishkiyan", because that's all there is to it. You removed your eyes from the screen for five seconds and someone was shot in the chest.

The first 20-30 minutes was nothing but John Abraham fighting the bad guys, his face painted red-sometimes splashed with blood, sometimes covered in the power of red peppers. However, if you are not the kind of person who likes to watch two hours of blood and Gore, then the legend of Mumbai can be a headache.

Inspired by real events, the legend of Mumbai took place in the 1990s when Mumbai was Mumbai, the land of Buchhaus and Bais. The film tells the story of an ordinary person, Amartya Rao (Abraham), who resorted to violence and turned into a threatening gangster. It's hard to ignore the "swing" of the film, which is dominated by male actors. Mumbai Saga is the story of a gangster who competes with the police. In the mid-1980s, Amartya Rao (John Abraham) lived with his family, including his father (Rajendra Gupta), younger brother Arjun (Hash Sharma) and wife Simma (Kajal Agarwal) in Mumbai. The story of Sanjay Gupta is very interesting, full of excitement and even twists and turns. The film is inspired by real events. In addition, it is based on people that many people may not know. Robin Bart and Sanjay Gupta’s scripts are effective. The screenwriters do their best to ensure that the focus remains on the main plot and that the audience is not bored, even for a second. Therefore, the film moves at supersonic speed. Some moments in the film are exceptions, which are worth thinking about. Sanjay Gupta’s dialogue (an additional dialogue by Vihaf Vishal) enhances the film’s public appeal. Sanjay Gupta’s direction is appropriate. He treated the story in a very dramatic and entertaining way, and tried his best to cater to the lowest denominator. As a result, he used a large number of moments to describe the narrative. The characters of Amartya and Savarka are particularly strong and well fulfilled. On the other hand, some characters did not get well-deserved screen time. Sanjay Gupta should also make the second half, especially the climax sharper. The length of the second half is also a bit problematic.

"Legends of Mumbai" begins with a shocking note, depicting the relationship between politicians and gangs in Mumbai decades ago. This movie did not waste time because it quickly arrived why Amartya became a Don. The scene of Amartya's attack on Gaydonde's men on the railway bridge started unexpectedly, and it will surely be loved by the masses. The second action scene, in prison, pushes the fun forward. The rise of Amartya seems to be too fast, but thank goodness, a lot of things happened in the movie and I couldn't keep the interest. The assassination of Sunil Haitan is a high point. The intermission is at an excellent juncture. After the interval, the cat and mouse chasing between Amartya and Savarkar allows the audience to sit on the edge of the seat, which is also the sudden turn of the story before the climax. Orgasm can be better, but it's worth seeing.

John Abraham is at his best. He looks terrible gangster every inch, he is a fantastic action scene. In several places, he flashed a dimpled smile briefly, which added to the charm of his character. Emran Hashimi is late for the competition, which may upset his fans. But when he entered the narrative, he was swaying. Not only did he act, he also stole his one-way show. His dialogue with the police uniform will cause enthusiasm in the cinema. Mahesh Manjerekar is too shrewd politician. Amole Gupt was great. Prateik Babar looked a little uncomfortable, but managed to leave a mark. Kajal Agwal and Anjana Suhani have a limited range. Titi Raj (Neram: Arjun's wife). Gulshan Grove (Nari Khan) looks stylish and decent. Rohit Bos Roy (Baba) is as good as Amartya's right hand. But his motivation in the second half seemed a bit unconvincing. Samir Sonny, Shaad Randawa (Jagannath), Vivan Parashal (Sadashif) and Hash Sharma are all right. Sunil Shetty (Sada Anna) is good in special appearance. He looks very fashionable.

In such movies, the range of music is limited. Thankfully, there are only two songs in the film. "Danka Baha" is a foot strike. "Shore Machega" was well shot, but it seemed out of place in a period movie. Amal Mohile's background score is dramatic and thrilling.

Shihar Batnagar's film photography is unrepentant. The production designs of Priya Suhas and Sunil Nigwikar and the costumes of Nasheed Shah are real. Anbarif's actions are one of the climaxes of this movie. Nube Silus’ Vfx is good in some places. Bundy Najib's editing could have been clearer in the second half.

In general, "Legend of Mumbai" is a movie worth experiencing on the big screen. It is dotted with moments of mass, applause worthy of dialogue, sudden twists and loads of style. In terms of box office, it will find sponsorship in theaters to bring smiles back to the faces of dealers and exhibitors.

First of all, John Abraham and Emran Hashimi are popular heroes.

Therefore, when John Abraham lifts the bicycle above his head (The Force) or Emran Hashmi plays his bad boy performance (in the past in Mowbah), the audience must be crazy.

A similar thing is the potential of the Mumbai legend, which has plenty of clapping moments to come to the screen with two heroes.

Another major contributor to this typical Sanjay Gupta movie is Heavy Dialogue Bazi.

From Atish to Kabile, the director has ensured that every dialogue has impact, especially in intense dramatic moments.

Therefore, when John took up the lichen and challenged the local Don (Amor Gupt), while also standing in the power of Mahesh Manjerekar, it was no different.

Whether it's a straight-forward game, a game that shows power, or a verbal attack after a counterattack, verbal language will make you happy.

All of this also means that for those who like the light and brisk film narrative, the legend of Mumbai will be regarded as a rather heavy outing.

This is not a movie where heroes make jokes or fall in love with their women (even Kajal Agarwal, who plays John’s wife, wants him to kill, not call her). It is about establishing Sam Raja and keeping the bondage to it.

No wonder, there are many people who support this gang led by John Abraham.

If his brother (PrateikBabbar) wants to work with him, friends (Rohit Roy, Shaad Randawa) promise to support him.

Sunil Shetty appeared in a comedy and taught them the lesson of "gangster 1-0-1", and Gulshan Grover entered the "Kazka Fazada" mode as a trusted collaboration partner.

The narrative is not in Ram Gopal Varma's style, it is naked and tough.
