Durgamati movie review: Durgamati is relevant but the storytelling lacks the spirit it neededarshad warsi

Durgamati movie cast: Arshad Warsi, Bhumi Pednekar, Mahie Gill, Jisshu Sengupta, Karan Kapadia, Anant Mahadevan
Durgamati movie director: G Ashok
Durgamati movie rating: One and a half stars

What Is the Story About?

STORY: Life turns upside down for disgraced IAS officer Chanchal Chauhan when she is taken to a deserted mansion for police questioning. There, she is possessed by a spirit who was wronged and –make no mistake – she will be avenged.
Comment: When the tragedy happened, Ias official Chanchar Johan (Bomi Pederekal) was only a few days away from marrying social activist Shakti Singh (Karan Kapadia). Johan went to jail for the brutal murder of his fiancé. In a not far away world, Minister of Water Resources Ishwar Prasad (Arshad Vassi) appeared on the CBI's radar because of the mysterious disappearance of multiple idols from a famous ancient temple. Johan’s fate is sealed, and Prasad is evading arrest-what is the connection between these two government officials? Why is Johan being questioned in an abandoned, pathetic building that is notorious for its supernatural existence and is often labelled "cursed"? Most importantly, when he arrived at the venue, why did Johan claim to be the incarnation of the ghostly Durgamati, and who is she? Ashok G's Hindi retelling of his 2018 Tamil-Telugu bilingual "Bhaagamathie" is bold, but dated, relevant, but smelly.
Writer and director Ashok G’s ambitious project "Durgamati" riding on horses and off-road vehicles with the theme "good over evil" and "Vox Pop" as an undercurrent trend in this social horror thriller. Unless the first act—seeing women and children flying around and being dragged out of the house by an evil entity—or else, the first 30 minutes are fully devoted to establishing the premise and making the audience fascinated by it. Prerequisite we get, get hooked on us not. First, Bhumi Pednekar, as a frustrated behind-the-scenes bureaucrat, paints a gloomy picture, and the investment of the audience is enough to be curious about her back story. However, once the transformation from this indecent character to the former queen of Fuyu (she kept singing her own hymns, pfft...) changed, Bomi became the bombarded, his The heroism and subsequent predicament make you blink and shudder. Durgamati made a drastic transformation of revenge and redemption, empowerment of women, and political intrigue-red hair, saree cloak.
From the perspective of a horror movie, "Durgamati" is disappointing-appearing faintly at the back of the room, flicking his hair, a terrifying neck from nowhere, a medieval and flat pass. Jack Behoy’s background score made the director’s situation worse—too dramatic and outdated. Now, looking at the storyline from the perspective of a thriller, "Durgamati" is neither here nor there. If there is any difference, it is the sum of all the errors. The world does not pay close attention to a sub-theme: too peripheral, not suitable for our liking. The orgasm is predictable, if not all. Similarly, the comedy is a bit too late-"Gopi, Tumhare Anguer, Kyun Kaap, Lahainhai" extracts cringing audiences in 2020, not a laugh. Even Jia An's graffiti is too utopian, it can't be real, and it won't land where it should land.
Suppose when we say that Bhumibol is born and this movie is no exception, you would agree that this versatile actress is a lively ghost-is it meek writing? Who should say it! Karan Kapadia had a Swadesian moment when he was in the United States, and then he returned to Panna Village to try to improve his countrymen. As Shakti, he was very angry, a direct shooter with limited screen space. It's fun to see more of him on the big screen. Mahi Gill is the corrupt co-director of Cbi, Satakshi Ganguly, although this excellent actress tries to keep the plot serious...she has nothing to do. Besides, the Bengali lacks Hindi Understanding is the stereotype of Bollywood, it is as old as the dear times. Iswar Prasad of Arshad Worthy wants to change the country through honest and fair means, and this man is equally influential. ACP Singh (and Shakti's brother in the movie) is Githu Sengupta-even in his short, underdeveloped role, the way he charms us, he always does it, effortlessly!
In a world where politics is often synonymous with some people’s hooliganism, and egalitarianism is an extraterrestrial concept, "Durgamati" does have one or two lessons to be taught, but the narrative and storytelling skills are so dull. As for it slipped through the gap. Dialogues around powerful ideologies, including empowering women, are always welcome, but dialogue can be better realized.

In the depths of the jungle, there is a "haunted sea thunder" that the locals are afraid of stepping on. Women are imprisoned within their moldy range. who is she? Who is questioning her? What is her crime? Is there really a revenge "bhoot" floating in that Hafley?
Of course, life may be stranger than fiction, and there are some things in this world that no one can explain. This is the purpose of the "horror thriller", if you want to go this way, you have to make sure that the audience will fall in love with it, hooks, lines and a few sinks. But in Durgamati, the Hindi remake of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual Bhaagmathie, by the same director, there was no excitement or chill. The whole thing, which lasted more than 2.5 hours, was almost completely unintentionally funny.
A straight arrow Netta (Vasi) gave the heavy object to his cunning brother. His loyal personal assistant Chanchar Johan, IAS (Pederneca) is struggling in prison with apparently fabricated accusations. The love of her life, an extremely idealistic social worker, constantly raises his voice as "silent". Suddenly, Chanchar found himself in the middle of a CBI investigation, facing the honest Neta, led by a frowning, heavily Bengali-accented military officer named Satakshi Ganguly (Gill).

Actor Arshad Worthy, who will work with Akshay Kumarud, in his upcoming film Bachchan Pandi, said that the superstar has "brilliant" comic timing.

Worthy, known for his performance in the Munna Bhai MBBS and Golmaal series, said that he has been looking forward to cooperating with the 53-year-old superstar for a long time, and Bachchan Pandi is a suitable project for them .
"His comedy is brilliant. I always look forward to making movies with him. He said that whenever we meet, we should work together. But we never managed to find a good script until we found this (Bach Chan Pandi).
"It's very interesting. I think people will like to watch us. In Kumarud's recent home-made movie "Durgamati", Worthy said to PTI: "It will be a pleasure for the audience to watch us together. .
This action comedy will see Kumarud playing a gangster, he aspires to be an actor, Kriti Sanon is a journalist, and he wants to be a director.
Speaking of his role, Worthy said, "I play a struggling actor from Mumbai. My scene is with Kriti Sanon. I am not part of Akshay's gang, we are all on the opposite sid

What’s different in Durgamati

 DurgamatiDu

Anushka Shetty’s performance on the screen is comparable to the best movies in the world. Her fans would say that Bhumipadnika is not her opponent, but I humbly disagree. Pednica may not have had the opportunity to play a role beyond life like Shetty’s most famous role, but with Dumleyja Kehesha, Saon Kianke, and even her supporting roles in "Sonchilia" She has proved that as long as there is a good director and script, she can capture the attention and hearts of the audience.

Therefore, the screenwriter and director Ashok played Perdenica in "Durgamati: Myth", a Bollywood remake of the popular Telugu-Tamil bilingual film "Bagamati", in which Shetty plays the leading role.

The story remains the same, the location just moved to North India. In Durgamati, Pedernicar played an international accounting standards official who was imprisoned for the murder of her fiance. The CBI specifically restricted the Justice to a haunted palace in a remote place, and obtained information from her about her former boss, the seemingly clean politician named Ishwar Prasad (Arshad Warsi). The interrogation was conducted at the request of the main politicians of the state, with the aim of framing Ishwar, because his kindness has muddled the water for other power holders.

When Satakshi Ganguly (Mahie Gill) of CBI questioned Chanchal, the latter reiterated what others thought of Ishwar-he is a truly good person with zero tolerance for dishonesty. The justice also seems to be possessed by the soul of Queen Dugamati, who once lived in the palace where she is now being held.

Of course, there is nothing that it looks like in Durgamati, but the writing is so plain, the editor is so uninspired, the narrative is so extended, and the narrative style is so plain that there are no surprises enough to arouse people's interest.

Problems abound. Why is an official "pooch-taacch" locked in Hafley, haunted? Who knows? Why did the suspect stay alone in a Hafley with a creaking lock door, with shadows flying on the wall? Good question. what happened? As a long-term audience, the only thing we are sure about is that any tennis world like Worthy's play must be very suspicious. With the collapse of the plot point, there is no other way but to sit down and giggle around.

Once, when the Muslim name of Queen Durgamati’s close partner appeared in Arabic, I thought the movie would follow a series of Hindi movies in Bollywood after 2014-Padma Watt (Padmaavat) and Kesari (Kesari) went down, to give a few examples-this caters to the fear of Islam of the Indian public today, and controls public speech through stereotypes and satires towards Muslims. Durgamati even stole a series of idols in Hindu temples in Ishwa State, leading a person wearing saffron to say in a public event that this was an attack on "Hinduism"-yes, he used "Hinduism" instead of "Hinduism", the government will turn to communities in similar situations at the feet of ethnic minorities. There is also a "gareeb kisaan ka beta" (the son of a poor farmer) that was placed in a prominent position at the beginning, which is of great significance considering the ongoing farmer protests are shaking up across the country. But these two elements have no special effect.
